Our top Vacation rental booking tips and tricks:

When to book & When to go:

  • Summer time is high season in the Beaufort, NC area. Booking in Fall or Spring is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Beaufort, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • In the Beaufort, NC area, The earlier you can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are booked early. Booking your rental property six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
  • Some hosts offer discounts for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites usually offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines have discounts for local shops and restaurants.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • First, have your group commit to date ranges and a spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your group requires. RARE OCEANFRONT STUDIO, private outdoor area. has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible online. If they are not listed, email or call the property manager before you book the property. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • If there's a specific Beaufort, NC destination you love, browse properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or charges could be applied to your invoice.

Additional considerations:

  • Store the host's information in your smartphone.
  • To make certain that damages are not attributed to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas during arrival. Speak to the property manager immediately to relay any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents lots of issues.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Upon check-out, take a final walk-through to confirm you did not forget anything. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to propel future reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best rental home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
