Our top Vacation rental booking tips:

When to visit & When to book:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season in the Beaufort, NC area. To find the best rental within your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at Beaufort, NC restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Look for your local Beaufort, NC visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guides have money saving offers on nearby accommodations and attractions.

Filter your search:

  • Select a group lead, choose your dates, and select a spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Pebble Beach C-303, Almost Oceanfront 3BR 2BA has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible on booking websites. If not, reach out to the host before reserving the property. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to determine which bed configuration is suitable for your trip.
  • Are you looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or costs may be applied to your invoice.

More tips for your stay:

  • Add the host's phone number to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Make a record of any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be helpful if a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of issues.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors bothering your peaceful home life. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your rental home while you are away. Keep your property safe!
  • Upon check-out, take a final walk-through to confirm you have not leave anything behind. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave feedback! Property owners rely on great feedback to drive future bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
