Beaufort, NC vacation rental tips:

When to book & When to go:

  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. Book your rental in Fall or Spring to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • Hosts sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
  • Booking websites typically offer customers an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, NC area visitors guide magazines which include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, NC area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Filter your search:

  • Begin by choosing potential vacation weeks and a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Oceanfront, Dog Friendly, near the Point, beach & kids' gear, fun decor. has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Beaufort, NC rental home search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available online. If they are not listed, reach out to the property management company before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking

Considerations for your stay:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your . Put the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent lots of difficulties.
  • Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • To ensure that damages aren't linked to your family's visit, make note of any problem areas during arrival. Get in touch with the rental manager right away to report your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a terrific source for finding the best local beaches.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Re-check the property to confirm that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition.
  • Did you have a great stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
