Strategies to get the perfect Beaufort, NC rental experience:

When to go & When to book:

  • In the Beaufort, NC area, The sooner your group can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are reserved early. Booking your vacation home six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Summertime is high season in the Beaufort, NC area. To get the best value, try shifting your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer excellent weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic.
  • Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, NC area visitor guide magazines which include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, NC visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • First, have your family agree to a vacation week and a budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your group needs. Sounds Heavenly in Emerald Isle Has Sound and Ocean Views has 4 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Beaufort, NC rentals search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, contact the property manager before reserving your home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property manager about pets before booking.
  • If there's a specific Beaufort, NC beach you are enamored with, browse rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.

Additional considerations:

  • Be sure you get the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Upon check-in, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Record all coorespondence.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Re-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a great stay? Most rental managers make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
