Strategies to get the optimal Beaufort, NC vacation property experience:

Find your perfect vacation home:

  • Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer months are the most expensive season along the coast of NC. To book the most suitable vacation home within budget, we highly recommend reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular Beaufort, NC attractions. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
  • Property managers sometimes offer special rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Often, property management companies supply Beaufort, NC area visitor guides which will include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, NC visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Selecting the perfect vacation rental in the Beaufort, NC area:

  • Select a designated group leader, select your vacation week, and choose a maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Surf's up, Oceanfront Home in Emerald Isle, NC! has 7 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Beaufort, NC rentals search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property management company before reserving the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the host about your furry family members before booking.
  • Visiting for a single attraction or event? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .

Some things to know before you go:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents lots of issues.
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would back home.
  • Record any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if damages are assessed.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to make sure you didn't forget any personal items. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, ensure that you take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a excellent time? Most rental websites make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
