Tips to get the best Emerald Isle rental experience:

Find your perfect rental home:

  • June, July, and August are high season in Emerald Isle. To find the best value, try shifting your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
  • In the Beaufort, NC area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are booked very early. Reserving your rental home six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
  • Property managers usually offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, NC area visitors guides which often include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, NC visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Use filters to narrow your search:

Advice for your stay:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. Store the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your stay, make a record of any problem areas during arrival. Contact the host right away to relay any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers bothering your peace. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your rental home while you're out. Keep your property safe!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave a review! Hosts rely on great reviews to propel future bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
