Atlantic Beach vacation rental tips:

Get the most from your rental home budget:

  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Beaufort, NC area. Book your Beaufort, NC rental property in Fall or Spring to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Beaufort, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local Beaufort, NC area magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guides contain money saving offers on nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

How to choose and book the bestrental home:

  • First and foremost, have your group select dates and a budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your group needs. Atlantic Beach Getaway has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Beaufort, NC rental home search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible online. If you don't see them listed, call the property manager before you reserve the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You'll need to work out which bed configuration is optimal for your family.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you will need a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Some property owners charge additional pet fees.
  • Visiting for a single attraction or event? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Additional considerations:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of issues.
  • Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • To make certain that damages are not attributed to your family's visit, record any problem areas upon your arrival. Speak to the rental manager right away to document any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors disrupting your peaceful home life. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would have never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Re-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at departure. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on great ratings to drive more bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
