When to visit Beaufort & When to reserve a Beaufort, NC rental home:

  • Summer months are the most expensive season in coastal NC. Reserve your rental property in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Beaufort, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved early. Booking your rental property up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Property managers often offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
  • Many management companies supply Beaufort, NC area visitors guides that include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. Selecting and booking the bestrental:

  • Start by having your family commit to a vacation week and a maximum budget.
  • Dog-friendly house with porch in downtown Beaufort has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the property owner before reserving the rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Is your group looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the owner about allowable pet guidelines before booking.

More considerations:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your smartphone.
  • Upon check-in, document any damages to the property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few difficulties.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors bothering your peaceful home. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let burglars spoil your vacation.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected everything. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, remember to take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave a review! Property managers rely on great feedback to drive future reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
