Tricks and tips to get the best rental home experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • To find the best value, try changing your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warm temperatures, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
  • The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked very early. Booking your vacation rental up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Look for your local Beaufort, NC area magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guides contain money saving offers on nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

Planning and choosing the right Beaufort, NC rental home:

  • First and foremost, have your family choose the best dates and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Cottage Studio 216** has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available online. Otherwise, call the host before you reserve your rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
  • Visiting for a single attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
  • Some properties allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the owner about your furry family members before booking.

Advice for a great stay:

  • Be sure you get the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental.
  • To ensure that damages are not attributed to your visit, make a record of any problem areas when you arrive. Call the property manager right away to report your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few concerns.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors bothering your peaceful home life. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your rental home while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • Just prior to departing, complete a walk-through to confirm you haven't forget anything. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property a final time and scan for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a fantastic stay? Many rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
