Finding the best rental home experience:

Getting the best rental home value:

  • In the Beaufort, NC area, The earlier your group can book, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved early. Reserving your rental property up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
  • To find the best value, try changing your family's Beaufort, NC trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warm temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Look for your local Beaufort, NC visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guides have money saving offers on nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.

How to pick the perfect vacation home in Emerald Isle:

  • Select your vacation dates and maximum budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Dolphin Watch East, Oceanfront Duplex in Emerald Isle, NC! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly available on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the property manager before you book the rental. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches. You will need to establish what bed configuration is right for your vacation family.

  • Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of concerns.
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are out, just like you would back home.
  • Upon check-in, record any damages to the property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Be respectful. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Double-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at departure. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a excellent time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your property and/or host was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
