Tips to get the best vacation property experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer is the most expensive season in the Beaufort, NC area. Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring is a good way to save money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Booking websites often offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, NC area visitors guides which often include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, NC visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Make a plan and pick the perfectrental:

  • Start by having your group decide on the best dates and a max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Pet-friendly, 3 Blocks to Beach, Pool! Unit 302 has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available on booking websites. If not, email or call the property manager before you reserve the home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You will need to work out what configuration is best for your vacation.
  • Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or charges might be applied to your contract.
  • Are you looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

More tips for your visit:

  • Add the owner's information to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents many concerns.
  • Lock your rental while you're out and about. Protect your property!
  • To make sure that no damages are attributed to your family's visit, inspect the property for any problem areas during arrival. E-mail the rental manager immediately to report any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the property one final time and scan for damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a wonderful stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
