Tricks and tips to get the perfect Emerald Isle vacation rental experience:

When to visit Emerald Isle & When to book:

  • Summer months are high season in Emerald Isle. To get the largest rental home for your budget, we recommend reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite Beaufort, NC restaurants and activities.
  • In the Beaufort, NC area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are reserved very early. Reserving your rental property six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
  • Hosts sometimes offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Many management companies supply Beaufort, NC area visitors guides that include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

How to choose and book your prefect Beaufort, NC rental home:

  • Select vacation dates and spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Emerald View - heated pool NO FEE 1 pet- Ocean view just steps from the beach has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is almost always available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the host before booking the rental. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to establish what configuration is optimal for your group.
  • Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.

Know before you go:

  • Store the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To ensure that damages are not attributed to your family's stay, note any problem areas during arrival. E-mail the rental manager right away to record any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors bothering your home life. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Double-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property one final time and scan for damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a excellent stay? Most rental websites make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
