Tricks and tips to get the optimal vacation rental experience:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Emerald Isle. Reserve your Beaufort, NC rental property in Fall or Spring to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Owners sometimes offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites usually offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Beaufort, NC area visitor guide magazines which will include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, NC visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Selecting and booking your prefect Beaufort, NC rental:

  • Select a group leader, choose your vacation week, and choose a max budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration you need. Hear and See the Sound of the Sea has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available on booking pages. If not, call the property manager before you book your rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds. You'll need to work out what configuration is optimal for your group.
  • Does your group require special amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
  • Some properties allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property management company about your furry family members before booking.

More considerations:

  • Store the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • To make sure that damages are not attributed to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas during check in. Speak to the rental manager immediately to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, stereo or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent a lot of issues.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers bothering your home life. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let crooks spoil your vacation.
  • Re-check the property to make sure that you've packed everything at departure. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on great ratings to propel more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
