Our top Rental booking tips and tricks:

When to book & When to go:

  • In the Beaufort, NC area, The sooner your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are booked very early. Reserving your rental home six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
  • Summer months are the most expensive season in coastal NC. Booking your Beaufort, NC vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
  • Look for your local Beaufort, NC visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guides have deals for nearby shops and restaurants.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • Choose your dates and max budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Oceanfront high rise condo, centrally located in Emerald Isle has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Beaufort, NC rental home search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available online. If not, reach out to the property owner before you reserve the rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to determine what configuration is suitable for your family.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly property. Request specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Are you visiting for a single event? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental

Advice for a great stay:

  • Take a copy of the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your . We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Document any damages to the property during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be very helpful if damages are assessed.
  • Be respectful. Often, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Re-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a excellent stay? Most rental websites make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
