Tips to get the very best vacation rental experience:

Find your perfect vacation home:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. Reserve your vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
  • In the Beaufort, NC area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are booked very early. Booking your rental home 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites usually offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, NC area visitors guides which will include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Planning and picking your prefect Beaufort, NC vacation home:

  • Choose a designated group leader, select your trip dates, and choose a budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Pebble Beach A-301, Oceanfront Condo in Emerald Isle, NC! has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is regularly available on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the property manager before booking your home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to establish what bed configuration is suitable for your family.
  • Is your family looking for particular amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or costs may be applied to your agreement.

Know before you go:

  • Be sure you get the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Upon check-in, document any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Record all coorespondence.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of concerns.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers bothering your peace and quiet. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your rental while you are out and about. Protect your property!
  • Just before checking out, complete a walk-through to confirm you didn't forget any personal items. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a excellent vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
