How to get the best Beaufort, NC vacation property experience:

When to go & When to book:

  • To find the best value, try shifting your family's Beaufort, NC trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • The earlier you can book, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked early. Booking your rental home up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Beaufort, NC visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guide magazines contain coupons for local accommodations, tours and attractions.

Selecting the best vacation home in the Beaufort, NC area:

  • First and foremost, have your group choose a vacation week and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Pier Point 5B3, Oceanfront Condo in Emerald Isle, NC! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible online. Otherwise, call the host before you reserve the property. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to determine what is right for your family.
  • Is your family looking for particular amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or charges could be applied to your invoice.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your phone.
  • At Check-in, note any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent reviews to drive future reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
