Tips to get the best vacation home experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • In the Beaufort, NC area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are booked early. Booking your vacation home six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
  • Booking a rental in the Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Property management companies usually offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Look for your local Beaufort, NC area magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines have deals for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Choosing the best rental home:

  • First and foremost, have your family decide on vacation dates and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Retreat \"Down East\" in Beaufort! - Waterfront, Private Dock, Kayaks, & Serenity! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available on booking pages. Otherwise, reach out to the host before you reserve the rental. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to determine what configuration is best for your vacation.
  • If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some property managers charge additional pet fees.
  • If there's a particular Beaufort, NC destination you long to visit, search for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

During your stay:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents a lot of issues.
  • Lock your rental home while you are out. Protect your property!
  • To make sure damages are not attributed to your family's stay, record any problem areas when you arrive. Contact the host immediately to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected everything. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on good ratings to inspire more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will appreciate that you share your review find their best vacation home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
