Tricks and tips to get the perfect rental experience:

Finding the best rental value:

  • To book the most suitable vacation home for your budget, we highly recommend booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite Beaufort, NC restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Beaufort, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • In the Beaufort, NC area, The earlier you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are reserved very early. Booking your rental up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
  • Some hosts offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Look for your local Beaufort, NC visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides have discounts for local accommodations and attractions.

  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.

More considerations for your visit:

  • We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • During check-in, document any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the host. Record all coorespondence.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few issues.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are an excellent source for finding the best local attractions.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let burglars spoil your holiday.
  • Upon check-out, complete a final walk-through to make sure you didn't leave anything behind. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a great stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
