Strategies to get the perfect vacation home experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • Booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is a great way to save on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Property managers usually offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Often, management companies supply Beaufort, NC area visitor guides that include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, NC area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Make a plan and pick the perfectvacation home:

  • Select a group lead, select your vacation week, and choose a spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Serendipity, Oceanfront House in Emerald Isle, NC! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible online. Otherwise, email or call the property manager before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to work out what bed configuration is suitable for your vacation family.
  • If there's a certain Beaufort, NC attraction you are enamored with, keep an eye out for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or charges might be applied to your invoice.

Know before you go:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your phone.
  • To make sure damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, make a record of any problem areas when you arrive. Call the host immediately to record any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few concerns.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your peace and quiet. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Upon check-out, complete a final walk-through to confirm you didn't forget any personal items. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on great feedback to inspire future bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
