Beaufort, NC rental property booking tips:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summertime is high season in New Bern. To get the best value, consider shifting your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer great temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic.
  • Some owners offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
  • Property management companies often offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, NC area visitor guide magazines which include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, NC visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • Select a designated group leader, select your dates, and select a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration you need. Tiny House Downtown New Bern has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available on booking websites. Otherwise, email the property manager before you book your home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to determine what is suitable for your family.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you will need a pet-friendly rental. Get information on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some property managers charge additional pet fees.
  • If there's an individual Beaufort, NC destination you are enamored with, browse properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental

Considerations for your stay:

  • Add the host's contact info to your phone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent quite a few problems.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let burglars ruin your trip.
  • Upon check-in, document any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • When it's time to leave, complete a walk-through to make sure you didn't leave anything behind. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a great time? Many rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
