Our top Rental property booking tips and tricks:

Sticking to a spending budget:

  • To book the best vacation home within your budget, we highly recommend reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
  • The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked very early. Reserving your vacation property six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
  • Some property management companies offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines contain coupons for nearby shops and restaurants.

Make a plan and pick yourvacation home:

  • First and foremost, have your family choose the best dates and a max budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Ange De Mer (Sea Angel) has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is generally available online. If not, call the property owner before you reserve the rental. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, property owners charge additional pet fees.

More tips for your visit:

  • Get the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental.
  • Make a record of any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are helpful if a dispute arises.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are an excellent resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your rental while you're out. Protect your property!
  • Re-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property a final time and look for damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a wonderful vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
