Booking the best Emerald Isle vacation home experience:

Finding the best rental home value:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. To get the best value, change your family's Beaufort, NC trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warm weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Property managers sometimes offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitor guides contain money saving offers on nearby tours and attractions.

Planning and choosing the perfect Beaufort, NC rental home:

  • First, have your group commit to date ranges and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Point Emerald E-202, Oceanside Condo in Emerald Isle, NC! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the host before booking your home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to establish what configuration is suitable for your family.
  • Visiting for a specific event? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
  • Some properties allow pets, and others don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask your host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.

Advice for your stay:

  • Get the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental.
  • Note any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are beneficial if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents a lot of issues.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a great source for finding the best local attractions.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let thieves spoil your holiday.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a terrific time? Many rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
