Tips and Tricks to get the best Beaufort, NC vacation home experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved early. Booking your rental 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
  • Summer months are high season in Beaufort. Book your Beaufort, NC vacation home in the Spring or Fall to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Beaufort, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Some owners offer rate reductions for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Booking websites frequently offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Many management companies supply Beaufort, NC area visitor guides that include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, NC visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Planning and picking the right Beaufort, NC rental home:

  • First, have your family select vacation dates and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Why Knot Getaway…Rooftop with WaterView! Unit F has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly available online. Otherwise, email the host before you book the rental. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to work out what configuration is right for your vacation group.
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or costs might be applied to your invoice.
  • If there's a specific Beaufort, NC attraction you are enamored with, browse homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before booking

Advice for your stay:

  • Take a copy of the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your . We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents lots of issues.
  • Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let crooks spoil your holiday.
  • To make certain no damages are attributed to your visit, make note of any problem areas during arrival. E-mail the property manager right away to report any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a terrific vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
