THINGS TO DO:
Blu Skyz is located on a flat section of Ocean Drive, which is a great street to walk, bicycle or rollerblade. Emerald Isle is bicycle-friendly with bicycle paths along the major roads and easy bicycle rental if you cannot bring your own. Bicycle or walk to the Emerald Plant. Shopping 2.5 miles away. You can walk effortlessly to the pier via the beach (about 1.5 mile away). Emerald Plant. Shopping, Food Lion or Publix, water park, cinema, shopping, mini-golf, eateries, canoe and kayak units and surf shop are only 2-3 miles away. You'll often find incredible tidal pools on our beach during low tide. As with any beach (especially one with sandbars and without lifeguards), know what to do in terms of rip tides. On Emerald Isle, we don't usually get the monster waves you see on the outer banks, but everybody should know about rip tides. Bring flashlights to look for crabs at nighttime and a pair of binoculars to watch the dolphins or birdwatch. Fishing: The Bogue Inlet Fishing Pier is a 1.5-mile walk on the beach to right. Surf fishing is fashionable especially when the beaches are peaceful. We’ve tried to stock the kitchen with necessary silverware and cookware. If anything is missing, please tell us so we can address the problem. Food/Grocery: Note that the grocery stores are swamped on Saturday when new people arrive.

Tricks and tips to get the perfect Beaufort, NC vacation rental experience:
Sticking to a rental budget:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Emerald Isle. Book your vacation home in Fall or Spring months to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Beaufort, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- The earlier you can book, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved early. Booking your rental property up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property management companies typically offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, NC area travel guide magazines that include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Make a plan and pick the right Beaufort, NC rental:
- Start by selecting your a vacation week and a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. 2nd Row, Oceanview, Dog Friendly, 4 BD/3BA, Game Room, Office has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly available on booking websites. Otherwise, email the property management company before booking your rental. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish what configuration is optimal for your vacation.
- Looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a rental that allows animals. Request specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
More considerations for your visit:
- Add the property manager's phone number to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Make a record of any damages to the property during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if a dispute is filed.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors disrupting your peaceful home. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all personal items. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent reviews to compel future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
