Our top Beaufort, NC vacation rental tips and tricks:

How to get the best rental value:

  • Booking in the Fall or Spring is a great way to save on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
  • In the Beaufort, NC area, The earlier you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked early. Reserving your rental up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
  • Owners sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers frequently offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, NC area visitor guide magazines which include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, NC visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Make a plan and pick your prefectrental home:

  • First, have your family choose the best dates and a budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your group requires. Condo in Atlantic Beach, NC -Hungerford's Haven has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Beaufort, NC rental home search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is commonly available on booking websites. Otherwise, email the property manager before booking the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Are you looking for special amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or charges applied to your invoice.

More considerations:

  • Get the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your . Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • During check-in, record any damages to the property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
  • Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors bothering your peace. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all of your things. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to drive more bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
