Our top Rental booking tips and tricks:

Finding your perfect rental:

  • Summer is the most expensive season in coastal NC. To get the best value, shift your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic.
  • In the Beaufort, NC area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved early. Booking your vacation rental six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Beaufort, NC visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guides have money saving offers on nearby accommodations and attractions.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • Start by choosing vacation dates and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Queen Efficiency-Unit 401 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is often available on booking pages. If they are not listed, contact the property owner before reserving the property. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to establish what configuration is right for your vacation family.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
  • Some rentals allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property manager about pets before booking.

Advice for a smooth stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your phone.
  • To ensure that damages are not linked to your family's stay, inspect for any problem areas during check in. Get in touch with the rental manager right away to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often an incredible resource to find the best local attractions.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all of your things. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a wonderful time? Most rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
